Classical 105.7 KLZK was an idea that came to life in 2021 when classical music supporters asked a local broadcaster, Brad Moran, if he could help fill a need in Lubbock by creating a classical radio station. When a station became available in 2023, Lubbock Public Media was established as a public, listener-supported broadcast entity.
Classical 105.7 was launched in July 2024 as Lubbock’s only dedicated Classical music station offering 24/7 local broadcasting and online streaming worldwide. Classical 105.7 was conceived to support the arts on the South Plains and, as a non-profit, Classical 105.7 celebrates Lubbock arts and cultural community.
Classical 105.7’s broadcast tower is located in Idalou and serves Lubbock, Wolfforth Slaton, Shallowater and other communities. The station also streams on the Classical 105.7 app and its website, KLZK.org
Classical 105.7 (KLZK) is licensed to Lubbock Public Media as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. Guided by a Board of Directors and a Community Advisory Board, operations are maintained through individual donations, corporate sponsorships, foundations and grants.
